About Mobile Outpatient
Physical Therapy

Mobile outpatient therapy is outpatient therapy just brought to you for your family’s convenience and improved outcomes for your child.  Every session is designed individually for your child with your family’s and child’s goals in mind.  Bringing therapy to the home, playground, gym or community location allows the therapist to tailor the care to your child’s specific needs and to help you integrate skills across environments.

Our mission is to enhance the quality of life and self-confidence of children by providing exceptional quality therapy services allowing each child to maximize his or her potential and participate as fully as possible in his or her family, school and community.  We welcome and value the collaboration of parents.

Our services encompass the full range of physical therapy treatments, specializing in the following areas:

  • Torticollis
  • Hypotonia
  • Cerebral Palsy
  • Gait Difficulties
  • Neurologic Disorders
  • Developmental Delay
  • Injuries in Young Athletes
  • Autistic Spectrum Disorders
  • Developmental Coordination Disorder

About Clinic Based Care

For those families who prefer a traditional clinic setting, who are outside of our mobile area, or whose child requires specific equipment, your child’s session may be scheduled at our fully equipped pediatric outpatient clinic.  Please note that some insurance plans may require clinic based care in order for you to use your insurance.

Functional electrical stimulation

About Functional Electrical Stimulation

Functional electrical stimulation is the use of surface electrodes to peripheral muscles or nerves to perform a motor activity using a remote switch for training/retraining of motor plans using a remote triggering switch. Electrical stimulation may also be used for range of motion and muscle strengthening with specific parameters. This is part of a comprehensive treatment plan and not a stand-alone modality.

If after a full assessment, FES is appropriate for your child, it is important to know that you will need to purchase one or more specific electrical stimulation units, and you will be expected to complete a home program with your child in addition to 1 or more therapy sessions per week. Many children who are appropriate for FES will also require TheraTogs™ for carryover strategies.
